Quite a mix of compelling and irrelevant content in my opinion. The author extends his discussion of the evolving financial services landscape to include arguable digressions of anthropology and sociology - topics the author does not credibly advance. Most discouraging is his promise of digital’s role in bringing forth cures to social ills such as inequality and poverty as if the human heart plays no role. Any student of history would find these claims fanciful at best.

This is a great read and makes you realize where we are heading as a society. The internet and AI are changing the way we live and connecting us with so many new people across the planet.I really liked the Case History at the end of the book and the Jack Ma story and how business in China and India has different challenges. Those of us in the West really need to look into what is going on in these other nations because they could very well overtake us very rapidly...
I was fortunate enough to receive an early copy of Skinner's latest book, Digital Human and totally enjoyed it. His coverage of the impact of digital transformation on banking, communications and ecommerce is excellent. The stories from his travels provide both excellent examples and a perspective that only he can offer. Most of all, I enjoyed his very deep inside look into Ant Financial and Alibaba. A must read for anyone interested in how new technologies will impact humanity.
