I love this book! Beautifully colorful and informative - each page a different Catholic Saint. I had a paperback yrs ago for my older son who now has it at home with my grandchildren. Now I have another son in 11th grade working toward the Catholic Sacrament of Confirmation in May. The kids choose a Saint to add to their full name. This is the hardback version and it's gorgeous. This is written for all ages - big print and big colorful artwork. Don't hesitate to add this to your Catholic library! It would appeal to any age over 6!
We use this with our kids (ages 12, 9, and 2) as part of our family catechism lesson daily. Wonderful resource to become familiar with the lives of the saints. It includes and image and a few paragraphs about their lives. Just enough for a quick daily encounter and enough to use as a jumping off point for a more detailed lesson. Love this!
I grew up pouring over this book as a kid for my confirmation saint's name. It's the best book of saints for kids in my opinion--granted, I haven't read them all. But it has a lot of saints, lots of pics, and good stories. I bought one for my godson. :)
I received this as a Communion gift and loved it. Read it cover to cover so many times. Shared it with my children. So now I'm giving it to my grandson. It's nice that it's still around. A better set of role models for our newest generation.
I already own a copy of this book and I have used it with the elderly as well as my 4th grade religious education students. (I like it too!) I recently gave it to an eight year old girl for her First Communion. At her party after Mass, she walked up to me, pointed at the picture of Saint Catherine of Sienna and said, "She's my favorite Saint!"
Fantastic illustrations, fantastic descriptions of saints. My children actually enjoy reading these before bedtime. Great way to introduce your children to this wonderful aspect of Catholicism - the intercession of saints!
Bought this book as a Christmas gift for all my Religious Education students. The book is beautiful with colorful pictures and very good explanations of each saint's life. Excellent for second and third graders.
I loved this when I was a child. And hopefully, my granddaughter will enjoy it too.
