James Dean’s art has sold in more than ninety galleries and shops across the United States. He has devoted his paintings to Pete the Cat for fifteen years and has turned his natural love for cats into his life’s work. James published his first adult book, The Misadventures of Pete the Cat, a history of his artwork, in 2006. He illustrated his first self-published children’s book, Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes, in 2008, and the follow-up book, Pete the Cat: Rocking in My School Shoes, in 2011. Perfect for my 4-year old who has just started reading. The repetitive characters are great and she really likes them. The books are relatively short and the pages are one or two lines. Perfect for new readers with easy words and relatively few difficult words.
This book got my grandson to question what an "addition" was and then the engineering of the tree house. Started a great conversation!
Adorable book! My child loves Pete the cat & just like the others, this one was a huge hit. After reading it the 1st time it was immediately requested to re-read. 🤓He now is dreaming & imagining ways to build his own treehouse, even though we don't have trees in our yard.
We love all Pete the cat books! They keep my son engaged and interested. I am so excited when a new one comes out! They are definitely a must have in your book collection for your children!
We own all the pete the cat books. He's our favorite! This one is good too- not the best by any means, but it's a new story to add to the mix!
My 5yr old kindergartner has been doing an amazing job learning sight words and spelling small words by sounding them out. I thought it was a great time to introduce formal reading. Within a week of us reading this book together, she can now not only read this entire book herself, but she's reading other Pete the cat books on her own as well. We have ordered more and can't wait to begin reading them!
Liked how it stretched the imagination. It was amazing to see what they built in the tree house. It showed what can be done with team work. Very interesting book.
